« on: February 20, 2017, 15:37:20 »
Hi!

Have tried to find a  guide to installation regarding headliner/ inner roof of 111 coupe, i have done a several headliner installation over the years, but not on these coupe`s, i`m sure that there is some issues that would be helpful to know in advance.

I contracted with an interior specialist to recreate my 63 220seb original interior. I had them make a new headliner and then paid someone who does this kind of work for a living to install it.
The front lower edges by the front door corner windows are sharp and its easy to tear the new headliner.
Unless your well versed at installing headliners I would get someone who does this kind of work so it comes out as perfect as you can get it.
Kind Regards
Peter

You have to remove the back window to install the headliner. Often the cardboard tabs are broken that hold the headliner in place to give its shape

I was planning on painting my W111 coupe at some point and will need to replace the front and back window weather-stripping. I had planned on doing the headliner at the same time. That is good info and thanks.

The back window can be tricky and is susceptible to breaking when installing especially old glass
