Hard Top Identification

I recently obtained these two vintage Mercedes hardtops and an wondering how to identify which model cars they came from.  Can anyone tell by looking at the photos or tell me what I need to look for to make a correct identification?  The silver one is clearly rougher than the black one but both will need a complete restoration.  Any help would be greatly appreciated  -  including a rough idea as to their worth as my goal is to find folks that would be interested in buying them.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Frank,

Have a look at your tops, there should be numbers stamped on the under side we're the top meets with the car. This number is related to the serial numbers of the cars (I think). Knowing those numbers will help members here to help you.

Both tops look like a Pagoda top, however, ice read on our forum in the past that not all tops fit onto the car.

Thank you Dieter.  The numbers are as follows:
Black Top - #4194
Silver Top - #4026
I hope that gives folks more data to help with the identification.

Those are not Pagoda tops. They are for the 107 chassis line. (450sl, 560sl, etc)
1973 onwards.

Just curious, how can you tell? From Frank's numbers or the pictures? Just curious.

Hi Dieter, The pictures. Giveaways are Lack of wood trim around the rear window, the shape of the rear quarter glass, the 2 tone-5 piece headliner, the width of the "C" pillar area, and shape of the luggage rack chrome strips on the roof.
A few other subtle differences as well like the grab handle escutcheons are colored and not chrome.

Rolf-Dieter (and others ...),
just look at the different shaped quarter windows first. Clearly 107; Pagoda hardtops look different (and nicer).
