Try Steve Marx, at Marx Mercedes.
1950 Placentia Ave
Costa Mesa, CA 92627
(949) 548-1153

He's been working on these cars for decades, and knows them inside and out.  He's a perfectionist, and can be rather expensive.  But he will do things right the first time, and cares about doing so.

I second Steve Marx. Used him several times. Not cheap but exacting and provides nothing short of quality work.

Any opinions on the MB Classic Center?  I know they advertise basic maintenance to full restorations, but are they really more the latter?  Or just cost-prohibitive for basic maintenance?

Also curious about this.  Steve Marx/Marx Mercedes can't stay in the game forever.  Any time I have visited the MB Classic Center, even to pick up a $3.00 part, they have treated me like a king.  Wondering if their service is equally well done.
