Need help re interior code

I am new to mercedes and to this board, having just bought a 1969 280sl.

I would appreciate information on where to find the interior code (such as leather vs MB tex, color etc). I know what the codes mean, but can't find a data plate on my car that has interior or option info. The only plate I can find is the exterior color (etc) on the left front wheel well in the engine compartment.

Does MB provide any kind of build sheet?

You need to order the data card for your car. You can call Mercedes and they'll fax it to you, often in minutes.

Run a search on "data card" of "datacard" and you'll find the info on this site.
