Back home (almost)
« on: December 09, 2004, 15:21:29 »
Here is a 3D picture (to be looked at with 3D cyan and red glasses)of my blue 1971 280 SL, bought in Washington DC 7 years ago from its first owner.
This car was delivered in Germany on August 1970 and stayed in the Washington area until last August, when I shipped her back to France.
I hope she will travel all around Europe and participate to a lot of European events.

This is incredible...I've never seen a true 3-D photo on the web before.  Much less a 280SL.  With the old 3-D glasses this worked reasonably well.  Cool!

Hi Mike -- Yeah, I can't believe I was able to easily land my hands on a pair.  But it occurred to me that my wife had bought a DVD of "Spy Kids 3", which was in 3-D.  Several pair came with that DVD.  Other than something like that I don't know where one might get a pair.
For some reason, though, my wife thought that whole Spy Kid series was a hoot.

Mike, If you don't have 3D glasses, you could buy them on the web, for example at http://www.3dstereo.com/index.html, starting at 1 $ a piece.
It is worth trying ! I hope that in addition to pagodas, you will also be a fan of 3D.
For those who are interested, I have a lot more of 3D pics  of 280 SL's and other vintage cars taken at US car shows, including some very nice 300 SL's.

Just took a look in 3D.  Pretty cool stuff!  I used my kids 3D glasses from the movie Spy Kids 3D and it worked out just fine.
