Hood Ground Spring (BST, Bronze Springy Thing)
« on: July 14, 2017, 12:08:18 »
I have studied what I found on the Forum on this topic and just wanted to conclude.

From what I saw, there are two overall conclusions:
1. The BST was definitely part of option 533. I would extend it and risk saying that in other options, that were the combination of option 533 it should have appeared as well. I cannot find it in EPC in option 533 references. In the BBB I read that grounding straps were used in other cars, but not in SLs. I see in the EPC those straps, I cannot find the BST. But ok, that does not mean the conclusion is wrong, the on-line EPC is full of missing parts.

2. The BST was definitely installed in the cars that came with a radio.

Do these seem correct?

What do you think about my situation: my car came with option 532, which is automatic anthena, no radio. It was not present on the car when I bought it, but it does not mean anything.

Would you think I should have the BST?

I am not after noise reduction here, but I am after originality. I do have, obviously, noise in the radio, but, quite frankly, when I turn the "Tone" knob towards bass, it is ok.
