Glove Box

Please look at the attached pic.
Please notice the top of the door.  Is the interior of the glove box supposed to be visual or should it be "behind" the door completely?
Is there a way to fix/adjust?

You should not be able to see the top of the interior of the glove box. The door should fit nicely under the dash panel, with perhaps a small amount or almost none of the dash color showing. The front of the glove box should also fit flush with the chrome strips along the top of the dash, and the chrome strip at the bottom of the glove box should line up with the bottom chrome strip on the dash.

These are notoriously difficult to get adjusted. There are four screws at the bottom of the glove box that hold the door and four screws that hold the glove box in place. Each set gives you front back, side to side, and bottom to top adjustment. I have also done a bit of adjusting with shims on the chrome trim on each side of the glove box opening. Patience is definitely a virtue here.

 I recently recovered the glovebox and I tried to see if there was remaining fabric at the top but it is flush
I have made many adjustments and it seems like I can not push my glove box back anymore. --any other advice?

A couple of other things I tried-
shave the leather/vinyl on the side flanges to get it a bit thinner. Not easy, but every mm counts
Make sure the side flanges of the glove box inner piece, the "box" of the glove box are straight and at a true 90 angle, when it slips into the dash opening.
Shim on the side chrome vent (carefully) to move it out a bit
Shim on the chrome escutcheon on the left side (that is the heater lever piece) to help move it out a bit

Did you work at the screws on the bottom? The ones on the door can help to move the door itself up and down.

I played with mine for a while, and it is close (as close as I am going to take it).

Jonny,
I think my glove box is not sitting right because the chrome piece seems to be attached to low.
As you can see from the pic, there is a "hole" in the dash and the chrome seems to be lower on the right compared to the left
Take a look.  Can I raise that chrome piece?

I would try moving the piece on the glove box lower. There is some give in that, and you may be able to get enough play to push it into alignment. I did some gentle pushing on mine, as it has the same issue, and it got it closer. This may be another of those, keep doing it kind of things, and over time, it should settle in.

I did not resort to out and out removal and trying to bend the trim piece.

Can you push the box in deep enough to insert the two screws on the top and the four in the bottom to fix it in place?  Because these screws insert into speed nuts (also known as Tinnerman nut) they are not completely fixed in place because the nut can move in its hole. To really mount the box flush you can insert two more nuts into the holes where the rubber buffers are normally and then use a flat head screw to the screw the box in as deep as possible.
The screw heads can be covered with a thin rubber disk as a buffer.
Next step is to adjust the door and its hinge.

I had the same issue when I went from M-B tex to leather. Nothing I did would make the glove box door fit and function correctly. So - -

I fabricated a new hinge with slotted holes that allowed for more adjustment. It is way better now - - but NOT perfect.

Unless I am mistaken, all dash leather needs to be skived before it is installed. Should be about half the standard thickness. Not sure about when using MB Tex. Using the standard thickness leather will cause all sorts of fit issues throughout the dash panel. A PO recovered the leather dash on my W128 and used the standard thickness leather. What a mess to try to get everything to line up.
