I replaced mine this past summer as both were severed in two. This was observed with the front end on jack stands and the front subframe unsupported. However, you wouldn't know it by driving the car, as there were no handling anomalies. Ironically, after replacing the bushings myself I noticed no difference in driving traits.
Perhaps it's the "obligatory" front-end alignment that makes the car perform differently. I didn't have one done afterwards, but then again the car didn't pull. For those DIY'ers, this is a very satisfying job if your car needs it.
