Correct Horns for my 250SL
« on: September 18, 2017, 11:14:28 »
Hi guys,

My car is the early type 1967 European Pagoda.
The time I bought it (2011), it came with the horn 0320202006. The other one was bent and the lettering on the tag was worn off.

I would like to ask my fellow colleagues for help identifying the correct horns for this car. Are they the 006/016 or they should be completely something else?

Thanks
Danny

Hi Spear,

There were a variety of different tags used on the horns over the years depending on destination, year, etc.
Normally the tags looked something like the attachment, but came in a variety of different forms.
HO=horn; FSA=automobile; 12=voltage 4=frequency. They came in pairs, like HO/FSA 12/3 and HO/FSA 12/4.
Some later tags had a lot more information on them.
Does your existing tag have any of this information?

Hello Michael,

One of the horns came with this tag:

I do not want to rely on the type of horn that came with the car in 2011, rather know which one came with the car in 1967.

As I mentioned, my car is a Euro Early 67. The VIN number is 11304312002721. Which is the correct horn for this Euro car in 1967?

Danny,
the horn you show in your photo is the correct one for your 250SL.
Bosch used two different styles for numbering its parts. The early one consisted of letters and numbers as shown on the tag that Michael posted. Later this was changed to numbers only as shown in your photo.
Both tag types are correct for our cars.
I am attaching the Bosch Service List for your 250SL as a PDF and as you can see it lists 0 320 202 006/016 as the correct horn pair.
If you need new tags then you can buy them from a member here:
