« on: September 19, 2017, 20:59:14 »
Here is the link on e-bay for the LED headlight with adaptor that I had at PUB this past weekend. Hope this helps! Thanks again to everyone for the information and general good time.

Isn't the original bulb a three prong?  The cord on these lights have a two prong connector.

Is there a a P45t base with a LED bulb?

There is an adapter that is included in order to connect to the 3 prong base.

Take a look at the 5th picture on the ebay ad and it shows the three pronged adapter.

I've been working through my front lights and have done the offside/right side
However, the front indicator is now not working. Knowing that the circuit needs more resistance than an LED indicator bulb offers, I've left them as is but they are not working. Bulb changed/checked but no life. The other three corners of the car are fine. Any thoughts as to whether this might be to do with the LED bulbs (doubt it but...) or whether I have a specific indicator issue. Think the latter as I installed a new bulb, tested it and it worked. Put the light assembly back together and it didn't work...
Thanks

I was looking through some regulations and I do not think using these bulbs is entirely legal in Europe...

Anybody was checking on that?

They have CE, but for the car they seem to have to have E marks and the whole light unit is supposed to have homologation for given type of bulb...

I hope I am wrong...

There is stuff out there about that Pawel - questions over legality etc with the emphasis on "if it's illegal, your insurance is voided"
So I was very explicit with my insurer about what I planned on doing - which to be clear is aimed at making the car more visible - and they decided (in writing) it was not a modification but a maintenance issue and that insurance was OK. If you happen to have any original bulbs in your car, they won't be "E" marked.
Others have checked in the Uk and got replies like "Thank you for contacting us. We have noted your policy that you have had the lights replaced to LED lights, however these do not need to be added to the policy as modification. "

James, thank you for your kind reply. That is why I wrote "not entirely legal"  :) :)
