West Palm Beach
« on: January 27, 2018, 18:37:24 »
I was walking west on Worth Avenue, West Palm Beach on early Thursday afternoon, January 18 and was approached from behind by a beautiful Cream colored Pagoda driving west with the top down.  I did not get a photo or the plate number but it was not a Florida plate.  Minnesota or some other upper mid western plate, I think.

About 10 minutes later, I was walking east on Peruvian Avenue (one block north of Worth Avenue) when again, I was approached from behind by a beautiful Red Wine colored Pagoda driving east with the top up.  Again, this time, I did not get a photo or the plate number, but it too was not a Florida Plate.  One of the Carolinas, I think.  I don't see so well at a distance.

It made me wish I was driving my Pagoda.

Anyone here cruising in West Palm Beach on Thursday, January 18 ?

I didn't post sooner because I didn't want to announce to thieves that I was away from home.

Nice spotting. Just one small correction, you were in Palm Beach, not in West Palm Beach. Palm Beach is the Pagoda's natural habitat. West Palm Beach is nice also, but still a different world from Palm Beach.

Cees, I cannot believe that I made that mistake.  I have been calling that area WPB since I was there at the Breakers for a week in 2010.  I just now pulled up a map because I didn't believe you.  I sincerely apologize for the error.  I apparently started calling it that because the airport is in WPB.

I promise not to make that mistake again.

Anyway,  I wonder if the cars belonged to members here.

No, This time it was a vacation with some family.  I came back on Jan 26.  In 2010, I drove to Palm Beach and entered the car I drove in Cavallino Classic XIX.  Cavallino Classic XXVII should start next Wednesday, I think.

Haha, that's perfectly ok. Palm Beach was my own natural habitat for a while in 1991 including a membership at the Breaker's beach club. Never will I forget the phrase "Here's your pina colada mr Klumper" while poolside. Didn't yet have a Pagoda but a W123 300D, one of the best cars I've owned.

I'm in Palm Beach, but neither of those cars were mine.  I usually take mine over to Worth Avenue on the weekends.

Yes, Palm Beach is a perfect pagoda place (say that three times fast!)

There are several on the island.  There's a beautiful black one.  I've seen dark green on the island as well.  Saw a red 190 yesterday at the Beach Club.

The Cavillino is this weekend at the Breakers.

No surprise Palm Beach has multiple Pagoda's, there are some really nice cars in that area and to the south along A1A.  Across the river in West Palm very different, definitely completely different in Riviera area.

Rothko...Do you live near the Inlet (Reef Road area-North end of the island)?  If so, I would greatly appreciate the use of one legal parking spot a few times a year.  So tired of getting parking tickets when surfing Reef Road.  The residents do not want non-locals using their beach, the wall at Flagpoles is ridiculous, so much for public access...but then again, you are in Palm Beach.  Maybe we can make a trade, W113 parts for use of one parking spot a few times a year?

I can PM you my number, going to Delray today and Palm Beach next week...Wed or Thurs depending on the swell timing..I've got boxes of OEM parts..Let's make a deal  :)

Actually, I do live in the North End, very close to Reef Road.  I've let surfers park in my driveway before.

I just got back in the US from a vacation last week.

Shoot me a PM.
