I am searching for the following literature for the 1969 280sl:

1969 Prestige Color Catalog, 280sl

1969 Color Folder showing color paint chips for 1969 280sl

I have contacted the advertisers in Hemmings with no luck. I can be reached at davehawk@charter.net.

Another good source is www.autolit.com where you can view their entire inventory online by make and year.

I have used autolit and ebay as literature sources as well. Several others to try:
motorlit
hdrogers.com
car-stuff.com
lloydsautolit.com
autobooksbishko.com
mclellansautomotive.com

Good luck,

In 1969 there was a redesign of the litrature and advertising from Daimler -Benz north America no single prestige color catalogs for each model except may be the 600 were being produced. Instead the American mantality of advertising starting from the 220 and the mid line car range to the 280SEL and up to the 600 received one brochure with 2 pages and pictures and comments. I Do beleive a paint color guide did exsist .I also remember a fold out give a way was also pat of the advertising.
Your best bet is to contact Walter Miller in New Yor Sarcuse. He is a big literature dealer and may have these peices for your car.
the SL in the literature is a white 280SL with REd interior and a craftman working on a soft top.
