But...how can you tell the part is for RHD cars? The list shows North America which is surely only LHD?
Thanks again
Peter
Peter, when you search for the part based on the PN you provided, the EPC shows you the steering side when you go into particular model (see attachment). On the attachment you have just one example, but I went into everyone of the models to check - it is all RHD.
It looks like the correct part number for your car is A0005423516 (attachment). This is for 220SEB, M127.984, passenger car, two door, convertible, two door, up to chassis 082990. This is the LHD (see Version L in the table). Same number regardless of US/Euro.
I have also looked up in what models this part number was installed and you have a list attached.
If you are searching for this tacho - check the number each time you have an offer. You can always double check information I am providing in any MB dealer or Classic Center.
One more point: I am not sure if it is a cure to your issue, but recognizing that it may be difficult and expensive to find the LHD Tacho, the shafts for speedos and tachos are different length for RHD and LHD. The RHD shaft (A1125421007) is 1700mm, the LHD shaft (A1135420707) is 1300mm. I am not sure if installing a longer shaft will solve the issue (it may still be bent too much), but it will probably last a bit longer. Also: I think you can find a shop that can fabricate a shaft for you that has any length you want.
But the longer length of shaft solutions seems only temporary to me - the other fellow Members would have to comment on it.
