Is there anyone with knowledge of a 1971 280SL California Edition (limited production)??  What was the key difference between the standard production vs the California Ed.??

Limited production in this case means limited attractiveness. It's for all intents and purposes not a convertible.

Main difference is no soft top and a larger area behind back seat.  The two that I have seen drive around with the hardtop on all the time.
