Dash speaker mount kit
« on: July 30, 2018, 10:49:45 »
My car came without a dash speaker and the hardware to attach it.
I bought a dash speaker mount kit from SLS to fit my new speaker but it came without instructions.,
Has anyone fitted a speaker kit recently and have a photo showing the setup?
Thanks for any help.
Mike.

Make sure the heater levers work after you mount the speaker.  It is very tight.  I took mine out last week to see why the top right lever got stuck and the speaker was binding and needed shims.  All better now...

You need not shim the speaker.
One of the plastic heat lever wheels (top right one) has the protuding plastic milled off from factory; in order to clear the speaker.
However, on aftermarket lever wheels, this is not so when delivered/sold, and you need to cut the part yourself before installing.

Who to credit for the illustration? You Alfred E?
No, photo and instructions were provided by JA17.

Mike H, take a look at the photo of the speaker kit that Authentic Classics sells, perhaps you can figure out how to mount the speaker:
