Aluminum Wheels

I keep seeing ads for these on eBay.  Were they ever an 'official' W113 option?  If so, I assume they would only have become an option with the full-size wheelcovers.  I think they're sort of interesting and not all that costly when you consider that they are aluminum.  Wonder what they would look like with trim rings and a small cap.

The aluminum wheels came from W123 cars between 1980 and 1982.  They came in 5 1/2 and 6" widths.  Contact me if you want to buy some of the 6" wheels.

Just not sure how they would look on a small-hubcap 230 / 250.  Are there any photos out there of early cars with these wheels?

They don't work well with the dog dish hubcaps.  Most people instead use the full wheel covers, which work fine.

Don't know how you would be able to mount the dog dish hub caps on these since they don't appear to have the stubs or pins to hold them in place.

People add the 3 pins to the wheels.  Not commonly, but it's been done.  I think there are pics somewhere in the 190 SL forum but I don't know where.  I don't think it looks very good but those who do it think it looks great.
