boot lock
« on: August 08, 2018, 10:55:57 »
On taking my boot /trunk lock apart for chroming the alloy 3mm thick retaining washer had the tab broken.  Before attempting to make one can these be purchased? Rebuilding a 230 r/h drive purchased in the last few weeks and found this site invaluable thanks to all who contribute

Usually a picture helps if possible. Quite a few of us have a stash of parts here and there and might be willing to send you one.

Photo attached.  Thanks for your quick response.  Also would you know if the attached drawing for a TR5 is available for a 113 as I would like the dimension from A post to B post?

do8erman,

Some dimensions here in the technical manual.  Don't know if you will find what you are looking for. Have a look.

retaining washer

Hello Doberman,

the pot metal retainer ring in the trunk lock assembly has never been available separately
as haven't the ones in the door locks.
Only way to solve this issue is to get an old replacement trunk (boot) lock with an unbroken ring.
A sedan's boot lock should work as parts donor as well.
