Soft top rubber buffer orientation?
« on: August 29, 2018, 20:51:31 »
I have just installed my new soft top from GAT. Every thing fit nicely and it looks great.

The problem now is it doesn't fold nicely into the compartment.  Another member and I spent some time this morning trying to figure what the problem is.

The bare frame folded nicely into the compartment as well as the old top.  All rubber has been replaced.

On observation was I might have glued on the rubber buffer over the side windows backwards.  The thicker rubber might be preventing complete folding.   I followed a "how to" soft top guide from the German forum and installed the rubber with thick side toward the windshield and the thin tapered end towards the back of the car.  See pic below.

Is that the correct orientation or should the thinner tapered end be pointed to front of car?

Thanks for the reply. I thought it was correct but wanted to double check. 👍
