Today I brought the Pagode to an aluminum specialist.
He will make the bonnet, tailgate and doors without dents and bumps again.

This layer of copper is necessary to create a nice and shining front bumper.  :D

Today I took the seats apart.
I'm pleasantly surprised about the ingenious constructions.

I continue to be pleasantly surprised by how well 50 year old MB-Tex holds up!  It may be a bit soiled but otherwise seems to be in great shape, possibly only needing a good sympathetic scrubbing and new horse hair in the pleats.

The wiper mechanism was rusted and moved stiff.
Everything is now protected against rust and all the rotating parts are lubricated.

Good progress, you're alot quicker than me.... are you working on the car full time?  I would really like to work on mine full time but I need a job to pay the bills..... :(

Impressed with your windscreen wiper mechanism, what did you paint it with?  I wasn't planning to paint mine as originally it looks unpainted but I dont see it can do any harm to protect it with something.

Hi Steve,
unfortunately I also have to work for the money, four days a week.  ;)
Wednesday afternoon I'm working on this project, and also Sunday afternoon and two evenings a week.
Sometimes I can make time an extra afternoon or evening.

For the paint I use Hammerite, I followed a practical test (in Dutch) from I guy who tests many kinds of anti-rust treatments and Hammerite seems one of the best.

Aligning of the rear side trims in the old-fashioned way with a piece of string.

A momentous occasion:  The beginning of the process of fitting parts back onto the body shell!

Cheers!

Oh I can't wait for that either but it looks like this body hasn't been painted yet. Aren't the holes already in for the exterior trim?

He has been doing some significant rust and dent remediation, so some panels require drilling holes in new metal (best done at this stage before final body finishing).

Great job, will you repaint in 332G?
Also good news that you found someone to repair the hood and trunk. I thought that impossible, how was it done?
Thanks for the ongoing pics.
