Nice it's at the wheels again.
Is it usual that the back is so high or have I used wrong rubbers (with original springs used)?



My car sat very high after restoration  - looked like a Giraffe!
However, it quickly settled down after the hardtop and interior were fitted, fuel in the tank, and I drove it around a bit.

Hopefully you will find the same.

Great looking suspension!

Do not forget about heat protecting shield on the right hand side steering support bushing.

Also: there are some rubber plugs, I think, that cover round openings in the subframe, that are difficult to install when you fit the exhaust. I cannot say from the pictures if they are there in your car.

Best wishes for your 230 restoration project.  On a recent basic service for my 66 230sl a small quarter size area of rust was seen under the front left.  Obviously this occured with the 1st owner as it has not been wet/rained on in 15 years.  How will you remedy the rust issues?

I already made some extra holes, so in every hollow space I will be able to put a lot of cavitation wax.
That creeps everywhere so that no moisture gets in between.

Finally I found time to continue this project.  :)
The heater block is already mounted again, and also the wiper mechanism.
Now I want to put the ventilator assembly back again, but I can't find the mounting details at the lower side.
It can't be found in the repair manual or with the suppliers of parts.
Must there be a mounting bracket to connect with a rubber buffer?

Yes, there is a little angulated bracket of flat steel that attaches to you heater/blower unit and to the tunnel.
I.e. it is fixed by a bolt (and nut) through the tunnel and the other end to the blower unit.
The upper part of the bracket is roughly triangular - like the bracket part on your blower unit;
the lower part is rectangular. Roughtly 2 x 1 inch in size. It's a yellow cad sheet metal piece, about 3 mms thick.

Good description, this is what I needed to identify the part.
It was between the collection of yellow passivated parts.

This rubber for the air valve I bought a while ago, but it has a bad shape.
Some rubber is missing so unfortunately I had to throw it away and order a new one.

The seats are ready.
In addition to new upholstery, passivated steel parts, new chrome, new plastic knobs, I also fitted the seats with headrests.
