Oh, that's really awful. I almost wonder if we are victims of how low our Pagodas are. Modern cars are so much taller! Perhaps the driver behind had no clue that the Pagoda was right under his bumper. So... always leave plenty of room in front in traffic, and when someone approaches from behind, be prepared to creep forward. Or... maybe we need flags on our rear bumpers?

That is Horrible,  & you feel for the owner, one of ours ?
It looks like it hit a verticle post of some kind at the front, with the bumper and bonnet damage ?

I hope the occupants are ok. Looks like at least the crumple zones did their job.

Been there myself in my late departed 250SL. Not a good feeling for sure but your right, the crumple zone worked as it was supposed too.

Looks like mostly sheet metal damage. I've seen two different cars that were nosed from the left and right side. The frame rail was bent back all the way to the shock tower so that's really damaged.

Hi Peter, No rain that day. I must have hit the wiper switch somehow from the force of the collision. My passenger hand flew and struck the rear view mirror and "broke" free from the mount as it was supposed to. I am happy to say there were no injuries in that accident, just to my poor 6 week old Pagoda.  I'll never forget that accident as long as I live and always keep an eye on approaching cars when they are making left hand turns. Have a great trip to Florida and certainly do hope the Hurricane season will be over.
