Hey Y'all
I have been getting requests for the exact replacement for the quartz movement I used to build the PUB 2009 shop clock.
https://www.klockit.com/q-80-quartz-clock-movement.htmlIn the drop down select the 5/16" dial thickness.
I imagine most of these movements are now at the end of their usable life.
Don't blame the movement, a quartz movement should last much longer. But I have found out that batteries are the problem. The alkaline batteries that are on the market now are no longer permitted to contain Mercury, this can cause corrosive leakage as the battery ages, eventually damaging the circuitry of the quartz movement.
If you remember to change the battery once a year, they should last forever, well a lot longer anyways.
