Full height scissor lift.

Fitted this over the past couple of days.
Garage measures 3M X 3M X 7.5M.
I’m 6’ 3” and can walk beneath the car unhindered.
I can highly recommend one of these full height lifts in a small domestic garage.

Looks fantastic! This is really convenient. With my Quick Jack I can only lay down...

Particularly the ceiling part designed for the window frame!

Be carefull with the hood, I have seen some cars with "altered aerodynamics" because of the ceiling...

How did you support the car - rubber blocks under the frame in the front and under wher the control arm is bolted to thr floor in the back?

Looked at 2 posts but my floor is beam and block, would of required major foundation work plus the posts and arms would restrict side access.
Considered 4 post parking lift but quickly ruled it out due to platforms and legs being in the way of everything.
Opted for the full height scissor and I’m really impressed with the access and stability.
The limit switch is set at its full 1900mm ,car underside to top of windscreen is 1100mm giving me approx 20mm clearance from the ceiling. She stops bang on 20mm from the roof every time.

Hi Pawel, Garry.
40mm rubber blocks are supplied with the lift.
The 2 platforms raise to a height of 1860mm with 40 mm blocks on top. The underside to top of a pagoda windscreen is roughly 1100mm, car stood on its wheels is 1308 mm so as I’m lifting from the underside I needed  roughly 3000mm and altered the roof to suit. I knew it was touch and go and within a few mm of topping out but the way it worked out every time I lift it stops bang on 20mm from the roof.Fine tunining can be done to the limit switches but in my case it was not required.
These things are rock solid, lift in tandem and do give a sense of security underneath.
They are super sensitive on the button, have parachute valves in all cylinders so even if a hose broke they still can’t come down. Nice bit of kit. Would of liked the recessed into the floor version but the beam and block floor would not allow it.
Originally liked the idea of a 4 post storage lift for security ( once you nobble the power thieves can’t lower it )plus the support given to the engine and subframe during storage but should be able to do the same with 2 acro posts. Has anyone considered doing this on a 2 post to save stressing the rubber subframe mounts during long term storage ?

Think you missed what i was getting at.
25mm to an inch, I think you mean Centremeters cm.  A 40mm block is less than two inches!!!!,!

I still don’t get it ?
A pagoda stood on its wheels is 1308mm high.
Dependant on where I lift from the underside it’s 1100mm as“roughly” 200mm is ground clearance. To give 1900mm clearance beneath I had to mod the roof height to 3000mm.
As it turned out I ended up with roughly 20mm clearance when lift is at full height.

On another note ,is it worth supporting the front subframe during long term storage on one of these lifts or a 2 post ? Otherwise ,as has been discussed in other threads the whole weight of the engine, subframe, suspension and front wheels is born by the 2 rubber subframe mounts which have been known to fail.

This is the bit that worries me albeit it’s a couple of years down the road judging by my work rate 😂😂😀

I am, actually, also curious what the answer to Dave's question is...

When you support a W113 by the S frames inthe front and the control arm fixing point in the rear - will prolonged "hanging" of engine and subframe damage the rubber subframe mounts?

Automotech services, A7320a model. They do other more expensive models with ratchet type locks on the cylinders, if I had greater roof height I might of gone with one of those but to release the locks they have to go up before coming down.

Interestingly, I have been looking at this one  AS-7532B.

Did you do the install your self (alone), they look pretty heavy duty and am not sure I would be able to move it around myself and would need help?

How did you get the body shell on the lift without wheels or suspension?  How do you plan to get it off?

They are heavy but 2 people can easily drag them with a rope. I have an engine hoist but found it easier just to drag them. Mark your floor out first , anchor bolts are supplied, Bleeding the systems easy, all instructions are included but looking back if somebody said they would fit it for me for £300 I’d snap their hand off. The body shell was on a frame, on castors and was manouvered over the hoist , then the hoist raised and the frame removed.

I considered AS-7532B midrise lift myself , nice bit of kit, had an idea to buy, or make, a fancy work chair to go with it.
In a mad moment i decided to modify the roof to 3000mm head height, a gamble that paid off so i went for the full height lift instead.
Best of luck with your new lift if you go ahead, they are awesome,  i worried about stability and workmanship before it arrived but i can confirm for the price they are a nice bit of kit.
Ask them about hydraulic oil, mine took 16 litres , i bought 20 online for about £30.
