Opinions would be appreciated: The firewall padding on my 230sl came with cut outs for fuse panel, spotlight socket etc so it was placed aligning those- results in a space between the top of the pad and the "rain guide where the three bumpers ride.
On some cars, I have seen the padding with this space between the top of the pad and the rain guide. Some then had that spacing (usually about 1/2 inch) painted black, while others retaining the car color.
On others, the firewall pad is tight against the rain guide at the top.
Any opinions on which might be "more correct" would be appreciated
