Signal stick
« on: April 21, 2019, 10:49:58 »
Hi, the black plastic piece at the tail-end of the signal stick is loose. This plastic piece is the part that has a switch to increase the speed of the windscreen wiper. I am not sure how to make it tighter so it will not drop off. Sorry I am not technical and may not be describing the problem well. Anyone had this problem before and fix it before?  I have been told to go buy a new signal stick that might cost me in excess of $650 which I find it hard to part for what seems to be not a big problem. Thanks

Assuming yours in not repairable, you can buy reproduction ones from the vendor below for less but I don't know how good they are.

The are also a few threads here on that topic.

Indeed, if you type in the search box top right corner of the forum page "wiper switch" or "wiper switch repair" you will find a lot of threads on how to open it, repair it and also where to buy it.

E.g. this one: https://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=28435.msg205377#msg205377

Keep in mind that the 230 and late 250 /280 are different parts. What car do you have?

Henry

As you are in Singapore, I suspect you might have a RHD drive car. Not sure, but likely. I have a vague recollection (reading on here) that the stalks are "sided" and that RHD are NLA nor made repro. I may be wrong on that and very happy to be corrected
