Hard top screw?- do you have this?
« on: February 06, 2005, 17:27:50 »
Hello,
My hard top has what appears to be an additional screw located in the rear middle portion of the frame holding the windshield. (Location is similar to where the soft top's pin which is used to lock the soft top in the rear trunk). I hope I am making sense.

I have this extra screw in my hard top and I don't know what it is for. It does not fit in the lock of the soft top. I tried that and the gap of my hard top and the rear deck was too high.

Does anyone have an idea what this is for?

Thanks

Joelj

Sounds like the hardtop for a California Coupe. Check to see if that's the original hardtop. There should be a number stamped into the hardtop that matches other numbered body panels, including the hood and tonneau cover.

Here's a site that details some pix of these numbers:

one thing I've learned in life. Never question an extra screw. Simply enjoy it.
