Brake Booster
« on: July 26, 2019, 01:05:05 »
In disassembling my brake booster (1966 230SL), I found some old brake fluid in the chamber on the master cylinder side.  It was very brown, as though it had been there a while.  I don,t see any indication of leakage on the master cylinder so my guess is that it was leaking at some point and was repaired.  It also wasn’t losing fluid before I took the cylinder off of the booster.  Just want to be sure that there shouldn’t be fluid in this area?  Correct?
Probably should rebuild anyway.

Thanks,
Harry

It should be dry inside. Not a bad idea to rebuild.
