Eberspracher exhaust versus Mercedse Benz
« on: September 20, 2019, 17:18:22 »
Someone told me that Eberspracher is the supplier for the Mercedes Benz w113 exhaust system.
The takeaway was that they are exactly the same, but the Eberspracher exhaust is much less expensive.

Is this correct? Are there differences (except the price)?

I cannot comment on the current situation, but when I bought an original exhaust from Mercedes Benz in the early 80s - which had to be welded together - it was an Eberspächer part.

Do you have a source of Eberspracher exhaust, particularly the late front pipe?

What I am hearing is that the supplier for MB has changed.

Hi,

You can get Eberspächer exhaust parts from SLS now.
The parts marked as OEM specifically states that Eberspächer is the producer.
Bought a full set for a 280 last year. No issues and price was ok IMO.

I will check again when the MB ones are available and take another look at the SLS ones. Thank you!

I have tried the front OE style downpipes from SLS. They are not a good fit and have some manufacturing errors.
The rest of my exhaust is newer eberspaecher components. They seem to work well.

Thank you, again, Tyler, then I will wait, as I decided before... I think I forgot you tested those too...

I had a Mercedes Benz exhaust which needed to be renewed.
The sound was good, not too loud, not to “low”. Just as you would expect from a 280SL.

Now, with net new Ebersprächer the sound is very loud, and the tone is very bassy/low.
Its irritating after 10 minutes.
Nobody has the same experience?
