Factory spark plug wrench socket

Thought i would mention this as a general interest subject,as i have owned
 many many makes of classics all with different tool kits, some better than others.
The factory Pagoda spark plug wrench, is a very good tool , but for a few reasons i  will mention
a better wrench , is a 70s 80s Porsche klien ,same size 21mm, for model Porsche 944-928.
It is  11.1/2 inches long ,that is 3.1/2 inches longer than  the pagoda wrench, this alloys you
to remove plugs  easyer especially alloying you  free access up around and above  all accesories,
oil dip stick,hoses, etc, etc, especially if engine is hot.
It has a better retaining spring,a little more firmer, and also the  rubber insert to hold plug while lifting,
and the 10mm hole for brace is the same size, so also fits.
i never use my original tools anyway, but i do use this Klien as its superb.
They are available for sale used always. regards.

Yes having the extra length makes life easier. Especially cyl 1 and 2 with the injection lines in the way. There is a Hazet version (Hazet 4762)  of this wrench that was supplied with newer cars 73 and up. (107, 116, 123, etc)

Another version, stamped with "Mercedes Benz" - Hazet 767-1, part  number  000 581 05 67, it is 30 cm long.

I've never had any issue with my basic spark plug wrench. I use a universal-joint adapter and an extension on my ratchet.

I just bought some used MB wrenches off of EBay that are in good shape.

It included a Hazet 4762 plug socket, marked with MB part # 000 581 1067.

Delivered paid US$35 for everything.

After many years of use, the rubber insert in my socket started coming out with the spark plug.  So I bought a magnetic socket.  Much better IMO.
