Private PM's
« on: October 04, 2019, 23:20:00 »
Why can I not sent private PM's?  Do I have to be a paying member to do this?  When I go to the PM page it has the persons handle with a red box with an x next to it?  Do you need a certain number of posts before you can do PM's? If so what is the magic number?

Very Frustrating!

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this.  If not I apologize.

Rocking hair,

Presently there is no restriction on sending PM’s to any members whether Full or Associate.  This may change but at present the only thing that may stop you is if the members mail box is full.

When you check on the members handle to send a PM it will show his name under the to box with the Red Cross indicating who the message will be sent to.  You should then be able to type your message and send.

Not quite... Associate Members can only send or receive 25 PM's. This is to prevent outsiders from spamming members. Additionally, the system throttles PM's, again to make spamming hard. Full Members can send and receive unlimited PM's.

However, you are misinterpreting the screen. When you PM a member, their name shows up underneath the box to add further recipients to the PM. The red box is there if you'd like to remove the person from the addressee list. So just enter a subject, enter your message and submit.
