Some questions....
« on: November 09, 2019, 09:09:07 »
Good morning.
1.- I am trying to put in my 230 sl 1965 a radio Becker Europe and I don't know how to disassemble the two buttons and cover to put it in its place ....
I have the two pieces with screw to place it, but first I must disassemble the front of the radio ....
some clue?
2.- what is the cable connection, in the heating box, passenger area? It looks behind the glove compartment ...
What it is for?...

Thanks for all
Regards

Hi Antonio,

The buttons are without screw. You can pull them of with appropriate force.

On the heater box left site is a connection, in my 280SL, for the glovebox light wiring.

Success, Peter

The early Becker radio knobs do have a tiny set screw in the side. The later Becker radio knobs just push on or pull off. The wire going to the glove box light is connected to a terminal block under the dash.

First of all, what Becker are you trying to install?  It needs to be a small-face Becker.  (early).  See here for a pictures showing the difference between the two:  https://www.sl113.org/wiki/Electrical/Radio   Scroll down to the picture.   You need a small-face Europa TR or TG (or Grand Prix but that would be very rare).  Hopefully you have a small-face Europa TR.  Post a picture of the radio and amplifier you are trying to install.  Assuming you have an early small face radio, the knobs are held in by set screws.
