Experience with Radar Dimax Classic tires?
« on: December 27, 2019, 21:24:16 »
Dear All

I have found these classic tires from Radar, which seem to be priced quite attractively (around half to one third of Vredestein Sprints), and at the same time their speed rating is ok. (H or W - depending on dimensions):

185R14:

205/70 R14:

As seen above they come both in 185R14 as well as 205/70 R14, and their design seems to be be classic, both in terms of threads and side-walls. Also, they are available with both black side-wall and with a stribe (for 185R14).

What do you think of these tires?
Does anyone have any experience with these tires?

Thanks in advance,

Christian :)

Hi there, did you end up buying the RADAR dimax classic tires? If so, what size and how do you like them?

Hi :)

Yes, I bought a set for my 1970 280SL with Fuchs / Barock rims in 205/70 R14.

After some run-in I am quite happy with them, taking the low price into consideration. I have only once on a wet surface experienced a slight tendency for slipping, but it could also have been some on the road which made it slippery. But I drive very rarely in wet conditions with my 280SL, thus I don’t have a lot of experience with their wet performance.

What size are you looking at?

Cheers,

Christian :)
