Door handles
« on: December 30, 2019, 21:12:07 »
A key specialist made keys for the door locks, trunk lock and the dashboard lock, because they where not with the car when I bought it.
Unfortunately the locks of the two doors have a different key.
I want to have the LH side door the same key as the trunk lock and dashboard lock.
Which one of the door handles is for the LH side door?
They have the number 1 and 2 inside.

Again something else.

Hi Eric,

I'm now traveling, when I'm back home next week I can check. I have some old handle which can maybe help to provide the answer.
If someone else know the answer pls. provide.

Kind regards, Peter

Eric,

You have asked this already on the German Forum site,
and Memmo provided a sophisticated answer to you.

You can use the second door lock with the same key as for the other locks only if the key blank fits your additional (second) door lock.
If it doesn't go into it (without turning) - then not, then you need for that one an individual key.

The door handles themselves are identical for left and right hand side - independent from this little casted number "1" or "2" - that isn't of importance.
Only make sure that your door handles (and internals) were made by YMOS but not HUF because the parts look similar but are not interchangeable.
As far as I can see this your door handles are correct.
So, relax...

 ;)

OK thank you.
I am very relaxed and the door handles are assembled already.  ;D
Indeed I wil try to find another cilinder to modify, which has the same key form as the other locks.
Hopefully I can find one so one key is usable for all the locks (except the ignition key of course).
Again something else.

I checked the door handles, no number inside.
Left and right handles are the same.
