Hello OZ, the title of your post certainly got my attention. I lived  in Torrance for close to twenty years (‘58-‘77) and it was my SL’s first home. Good looking SL in the photo.

Hey Oz, haunting the environs of SoCal again I see. Getting away from the crazy times in Franc??

Is the car black or dark blue, hard to tell from the photos. I agree with 49er, looks good.

(...Google Maps...) .... Ah, very close to your hometown!

I remember us both coming back from PagodaFest that Sunday and we saw at an intersection somewhere close to your home a black (or so) 280 SL with hardtop mounted and presumably a young Lady behind the wheel heading towards the opposite direction. We honked the horn a few short times to attract the other Pagoda's attention and only during the last glimpse of a second before we passed by the other Pagoda's (female) driver recognized us in your white 250. 

Don't know for sure whether it was this "Torrance" car but clearly a side-marker lens Pagoda with hardtop - black or darkredbrown. 

Maybe the same ....

This Pagoda was black with red interior.  Nice. 

49er - it was on Lomita just off of Hawthorne. 

Pagodafest - good memories.
