Thank you. I need to try that on my car to confirm when the solenoid kicks out of the low psi position in relation to the throttle.

Well, as my car has a manual transmission, I just looked at your 3-position video 😉, congratulating myself not to have to worry about THAT solenoid, since I spent 3 weeks in December trying to get the hang of the CSV and CSS solenoids (and TTS, WRD etc.) on account of a difficult cold start situation ;)

But... looking at your other videos, I was fascinated by the simplicity and power of the split-linkage test for lean/rich fuel mixture. What a clever idea. And another great video. Thank you for posting this too.

The automatic does add another other level of complexity to the car. You have the 3 position solenoid, (2) pressure switches, the throttle solenoid, the switch on the venturi and FINALLY the kick down switch.

So I guess it’s a choice: either you wear (out) your shoulder and elbow joints on the stick shift on a manual, or you wear (out) your brains and patience on trying to get the automatic systems to work for you. In either case, the car wins  ;D

Can’t believe the coincidence reading  and watching your video this morning I have a 1967 250sl that has been in storage for many years we have the car running well except we cannot get it to kick down.
We originally found the three position solenoid to be stuck but after freeing and watching it move in all three positions we still can’t get kickdown the original factory seal is still intact on the gearbox so we haven’t tried adjusting the pressure am I correct in thinking that only affects the quality of the changes and it’s the rod that needs adjusting for kickdown.
