Hi Fellows,
would you please recommend where to purchase the windshield plus trims for my 1965 230 SL? And if anyone knows an installation shop around Miami area please share.

Best,
Alex

You can buy a new windshield through any dealership or the Classic center. Just take with you one of the following part numbers:

Given that you have a 230SL, it would have originally been delivered with a clear windshield, part number 113-671-03-10 , still available, wholesales for $395 and retails for $500.  Being in Miami, and if you're not too concerned about this aspect of originality,  you may want a green tinted heat absorbing windshield.  Part number 113-671-04-10, currently retails for $398 and retails for $680.  There is a third glass you can buy that i also heat absorbing, but I'm not sure if it's clear or bronze tinted.  Part number 113-671-02-10.  It wholesales for $318 and retails for $520.

Regarding the trim and seal, there are a total of 5 pieces of trim that you'll need.  The left side, right side, and the two little joint covers that mate the two halves.  The left side trim, part number, 113-671-01-30, is available through any dealership or Classic.  It wholesales for $255 and retails for $354.  The right side piece of trim, part number 113-671-02-30, is still available through any dealership or Classic.  It, too, wholesales for $255 and retails for $354.  The two joint covers, part number 110-678-04-37, are also still available through any dealership.  They wholesale for $18 each, and retail for $18.50 each.

The rubber seal, part number 113-671-02-20, is also available through any dealership or Classic.  It wholesales for $118 and retails for $147.

I make mention of all of the wholesale and retail prices due to so many dealerships, private vendors, and even Classic often charging more than retail.....which is bad business.  So when you go to buy your parts make sure the prices quoted to you fall within the parameters in mentioned in the prices stated above.  If you go to a dealership be sure to take the part numbers with you, as most parts personnel will claim they can't get these parts.....but mostly because they have no idea how to look the parts up or even know that a Pagoda is still listed in the electronic parts catalog.

Hi Alex - I replaced my windshield over 20 years ago but my 230 was already an antique back then, none the less, I just went to a regular windshield guy ad got the glass for about one third the "Mercedes parts houses" were selling it for. You might have them check.

Alex, I did the same as mistertj here in Quebec City, Canada.  I don't remember the price but I think it was between $200 and $300.  I asked them to send me two of their oldest guys and I helped them  by removing the glass myself, installing the new seal on the old glass and taping it in place for a few days to "shape the seal" to the shape of the glass.  It took them about an hour.

For my eighties Bronco I also went to a regular autoglass place and they had a guy who specializes in older cars. He seems quite knowledgeable and did an outstanding job. Including installation (which took about an hour) the total cost was $300. It seems aftermarket good quality windshields cost between $100 to $150.

For many of you guys it seems that "original" is the buzz word and an absolute must. So, my windshield will need replacement also and it has a tinted stripe on top from the factory.
Who has those?

Mine was generic tinted.  For me, it’s just glass.

These people are the only ones I know of to currently offer what you're looking for.  I believe the stripe at the top is called a "filter band".  I've bought several windshields from this place, and I've never been disappointed.
