One way is to use a ring spanner, see pic attached. Grind the side of the ring spanner, so that it fits flush towards the head surface. This way, it hugs the hex of the fitting nut in a better way. Good for both removal and assembly.

The easiest way to get them out is to use an air or electric hack saw and cut two diametrically opposite slots along the length of the bolt. You will cut into the thread of the head a little but it won't matter. when you cut the two slot you can just collapse the tube inwards to break it free.

These fittings have an unbelievably narrow hex flat and part of what makes them a PITA. Most closed-end tools (box end wrench and socket) have a chamfer on the end. That is bad for this because it cuts the contact area on the hex in half. So the best thing is to grind away the part with the chamfer and make it a sharp edge. That will maximize the contact area. I have also done this for the bolts that hold the trailing arm to the rear axle. Those also have pitifully narrow hex flats.

I will see if I can get a 36mm wrench at harbor freight as well.

I would simply install a new fitting.  As pointed out here, Niemoller has them for around
$100-.  Unless perfect, I would replace with a brand new unit.

Does anyone know the torque spec on this 36mm and 32mm bolts? I could not locate it in the service manual.

By the way, what helped me remove the super stuck bolt was to cool the center part way down by using a compressed air duster (you know, one of those can bottles that you use to clean your keyboards). If you spray it on the bolt for 10-15 seconds, the bolt will be covered with super cooled liquid and it will shrink it just enough. Mine was covered in ice within a few seconds. Then the 1/2" breaker bar did the job.
