Electric pagoda

I wonder if anyone has seen this it’s an electric pagoda. that a company called ionic cars .com is offering for around £250k .i found out about it from a news article where a tv presenter / ex model tried to charge it up from a Tesla charger .it looks stunning ( the car that is lol )

Curious that Iconic removed the model badge from the lid but kept the tail pipe. This is also the most subtle charging port I've seen in electric conversions too! :o

A while ago, I watched a TV program (do not remember what it was0 where they converted a 356 Porsche to all-electric.
While I do applaud these guys for putting their ingenuity to work and finding a way that these classic cars will still be driven and not only sit in museum collections in 20 years, I am glad I am too old to see the full effect of electrification of motor vehicles. I still get goose bumps when they start the engines at races and I cherish the smell of burning hydro-carbon molecules....
Have you ever come back from a spirited drive in your favorite car, put her in the garage and just sit there and listen to the cracking noises of the engine and body cooling down????

I "test rode" one during the local motorcycle show. They had two demos on dynos. I am heavily into motorcycles 9currently own 140 and, again, this is not "my bag"
The instant availability of torque is impressive, though. Doesn't beat the sound and smell of an "Otto" engine, however!
My major concerns regarding electric vehicles for everyday use still are:
- battery life and expense to replace it
- battery memory when re-charging
- cold weather performance

 ;D ;D It is not the sound (noise) in DBa, it is the character of the sound. Not much of a fan of turbine engines either. ??? jay Leno has one of the Y2K turbine motorcycles also, which I was able to see and hear at Mid-Ohio. It is different. If I would get excited about all these "modern" alternatives, I wouldn't own two cars from the 70s. ::)

The car looks stunning and by the looks of things it is restored to a very high standard ,would like to put it next to a hemmels one and see how they differ restoration wise ,and I know it’s electric .i think these guys have started a trend on the way classic cars can still be something that’s looks classic but very modern and eco friendly .its a great way to own a classic car .

A neighbor of mine up at our vacation home in the mountains home-built an electric racing bike based on an old Norton chassis.  After several years of on track trial-and-error development (he was allowed to run it in races with a retired professional rider who still maintained his competition license as an experimental exhibition bike) he worked out a lot of the battery life and performance issues. Finally they were allowed to compete in a serious important race against petrol fueled bikes - and won outright.  The bike is now in the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Alabama.

For me, the passion for a vehicle is not based on performance. If this was it, I would not own anything, because I could not afford a 1000hp+ supercar. I usually get "goosebumps" when the announcer says: "Drivers start your engines" - and the roar begins. 8)

Mike, not trying to be a smart a—, but the museum founder is Alabama dairyman George W. and not the racer John “Skip” Barber.  George W. did however race Porches back in the 1960s.

No problem, Ralph, I only remembered "Barber" and thought it was Skip.  The correct name of the museum is Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, and I have edited my original post to reflect that.

Will do Mike!  Thanks, and a big hello to the both of you from Italy.

Next visit to Barber I will check out the electric bike if it is on floor display.  This weekend is their Vintage Festival which is great fun but unfortunately at an inconvenient time for us.
