Thanks Aaron!

You're welcome!   But we're not quite done yet. haha  There is a lot to have to do.  After Oz's radio is done I have ANOTHER Mexico TR to help our friend Scott out with.  They keep my mind occupied though, and it's fun to me.

No, I have hoarded Beckers for years from the days of junkyarding.  (Back when old Mercedes were common at the yards).  My level of restoration involves replacing the bulb, spraying everything with tuner cleaner, adjusting the clutch for the dial movement.  I haven't done anything that involves a soldering iron.  Aaron seems to be the one who is doing that!

I finally installed my RESTORED Becker Mexico TR that Aaron rebuilt.   He replaced about a dozen parts ( I got a baggie full) and it works great - amazing - sounds so much better.

I was originally going to re-install this Mexico TR into the '71 280 but Aaron advised that it was "correct" for my 250 - so I removed the blaupunkt from the 250 and in it went - very nice.

The 280 gets the new-old-stock (correct) Europa that I got from Aaron - it's literally brand new.

A HUGE thanks to Aaron!

Great videos Aaron! You make Shango066 look like a hack. 😉 I’m pretty sure only Aaron will get that reference. Maybe a few others.

I get that reference and totally agree. Das Auto Shoppe rocks!  I’ve watched every one of Aaron’s videos multiple times on Oz’s radio. My learning curve was essentially vertical.

(To Aaron) I don’t think the remote control device worked on any Europas since they lacked signal seeking capacity.  I think it was only GP and Mexico whether mono or stereo.   Our family’s 600 had it mounted on the drivers floorboard like a dimmer.  Hands free tuning for the driver.
