Can this seat problem be fixed with a pool noodle?
« on: April 25, 2020, 18:53:24 »
Hi all,
I need to fix a “dimple” in my driver’s seat (see photos).
The seats are in excellent condition otherwise, so can the pool noodle insert fix this dimple problem, or do I need to do something different? I wasn't able to find a comparable situation in reviewing the posts on pool noodles.
Thanks!
Gary

Not sure that’s a pool noodle problem

That's a pad problem. You might be able to stuff in some very high density foam to take out the dent.  You will just have to experiment.   Or buy a new pad.

I don’t think that a pool noodle will fix that but i would maybe take out seat and try to stuff foam into the problem area then fix in a pool noodle as per photos to hold it in place.

Carpet padding in the flutes was one upholsters solution.

For reference here is a pic of one of the seat cushions that I pulled out when I redid them. As you can see someone was in there before and added foam to bolster the sides.

I ended up spending the money and buying new pads for both seats.  My butt thanks me🤣
