1965 MB 230SL, Steering Shaft Removal
« on: April 29, 2020, 00:23:13 »
Appreciate any information on removing the steering shaft from the steering column for a 1965 MB 230SL.  I have removed the steering column from the car but now need to disassemble the column, eg remove steering shaft, bearings, joint etc.  Any suggestions, experience, verbal, written or video would be helpful.

Do you have the Haynes Manual? It describes the process in 21 detailed steps.

Thank you.  Don't have a Hayes Manuel.  Can tell me which one it is?

Its just the repair manual for the 280sl's. You can order online and they are fairly cheap. Many prefer them over the original blue books. Well worth having for any repair or maintenance.
