Hello group,

I'm starting to recommission a 71' 280se 3.5 coupe that I bought a few months ago.

I'm trying to do things right and replace everything fuel related before starting the engine.

Tank is already removed and cleaned, fuel filter, injector noozle hose kit and some fuel lines already on order.

Can anyone share a M116 engine parts catalog so I can look up all remaining part that I need to replace? eg injector orings etc

I have absolutely no history on the car as to what has and was hasn't been done.

Rotated the engine and checked the timing chain already for stretch looks good, match marks line up almost perfect. (looks like chain has been replaced)

Thanks for every ones time hope that some one has a parts manual in a pdf form.

Sven

Which areas/pages of the M-116 catalog are you looking to find?  The M-116 parts book is many pages.  You'll need to check valve timing with a dial indicator.  Looking at the chain and the timing marks aren't all that accurate.  They're only a reference point for assembly.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm looking for the pages that are associated with the injection system. eg injector seals, connectors to injectors part#s

And yes, I will check the valve timing with the dial indicator you are right it's much more accurate.

What are every ones thoughts on coating the inside of the fuel tank versus boiling it? I hear different opinions.

Thank you!

If your fuel tank is that bad off just buy a new one.  Coating and boiling are temporary fixes.  Granted, if there is no rust inside of the tank then a good soak in Methyl Ethyl Ketone and a pressure wash will suffice.

Regarding the pages and parts you're after......we're still in a really broad territory.   In the parts book there are pictures, and then there are the pages that list the part numbers, and there are way too many to list.  Is there any you can be more precise in telling us what all your after besides injector seals and fuel hoses?
