Valve Adjustment Frequency
« on: May 28, 2020, 16:53:53 »
How often does the group recommend doing a valve adjustment on the M130 ?
Any indicators that an adjustment is necessary, have no idea when the last one was performed.

A valve adjustment and head re-torque every 12,000 to 15,000 miles should keep things in order!

We have this great resource here, that I use and admire: https://www.sl113.org/wiki/Restricted/ServiceManual

If I did not know when the adjustment was made, i would just do it probably. Good moment to look at cams and chain.

I guess the engine gets a bit more noisy when valves are out of adjustment, vacuum may be weaker, do not know what else...

As JA17 says every 12k miles. Any W113 car i get in and don't know when it was last done, it is one of the first things I do.
