Pagoda Classic radio - strange feature.
« on: June 18, 2020, 12:50:49 »
My 230 has a bluespot radio which was fitted by the Mercedes dealer when the car was new.  It has worked very well up to now, but I needed to send it away as it was starting to have lower volume which is a long term fault it seems. Still, not too bad after 54 years use!

I was told (by the radio specialist) that these and other radios fitted in the factory had an option to have the on/off switch on the drivers side floor (near the dip switch) so you could turn the radio on and off by your foot!  ????

Anyone heard of this option or have it... or was this just a strange tail ??

Never heard of anything like that.  I suspect the info is incorrect.

Hi,
there had been Blaupunkt (blue dot) car radios with foot switch to activate station scanning a.o. even in the late fifties.
Blaupunkt Köln from 1968/69 had this feature too: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/blaupunkt_koeln_s_7638700_serie_b.html.
