Positive battery cable

I'm looking for the positive battery cable and I think the part number is 113 540 01 30. (1966 230SL) I checked the classic center parts search and it did not come up as available.  Is it available on any other parts sites?

I needed one recently and I found the best option was to make one, it was better quality than the options that were readily available.

I bought one recently from SLS in Germany; it seemed well made. The installation went smoothly apart from the fact that it's a bit hard to get it snaked through all the various clamps.

Rhode Island Wiring Service custom makes them to order. They are listed on the parts provider list .

Make one from www.batterycableusa.com  They are great.  Pick you gauge, terminals, covers, etc.  I had a couple made for a different car to replace the crappy ones on there, beautiful!

Does anyone know the length of the cable before I remove it?  I hate to disable the car and would prefer to have a new one ready to install.

As per SLS there are longer ones, for later cars, 157cm and shorter ones for 230SL, 147cm.

I ordered the longer one for 280SL and it fit ok. Always better to have longer than shorter...

If you are buying the wire to make it yourself, I noticed it is quite important the it is made of thin threads so that even though it is a thick piece of wire, it is soft and easy to shape.
