It’s finally arrived!!
« on: June 25, 2020, 21:44:26 »
Dear friends
After a year of waiting, to the day in fact, my Pagoda was delivered. What made it all the better, it’s my birthday. What better present can one have!?!?

So here are some photos of my new toy, which I thought you may like to see. Not as grand as many of yours, but none the less, good enough for me!

Take care out there

Katie

OOOH red interior and a whitetop.  That is a wonderful colour combination.

Put your name on the list for the stencil and you can paint your hubcaps white to match the hardtop.

When I borrowed the stencil I did one set in black because that what was original and one set in white to match the colour the previous owner painted the hardtop.  I swear having different colours on the hubcaps makes the car feel different.

Have fun!!!

Congrats.

Lovely, lovely, lovely - and not just because it is quite similar to my 280 SL (dark blue 904 with red leather) mine is to a two-tone though. Well, maybe partly because it is the same good taste in colors..... :o 8)

Belated but honest! Happy Birthday Katie and congratulation on your Pagoda.
The only remark are the hub cups, but all other details are excellent.
Best wishes!

Hi Katie, love your classic, being right hand drive, very desirable here in Austrlia,
and love the colour combination.---Good on you both, with your  choice.

That is a very nice color combo and black plates are a treat for that car.
Enjoy it!

Was kinda thinking of painting the hub caps, but it’s kinda growing on me the full chrome look. Aware they would have been painted, but thinks makes the wheels stand out a little more (even if that reason is that they are not correct,!)

Going to wait a while and ‘grow’ into the car before making a decision on this conundrum   ☺️

Congratulations.

They are all "Grand" and your is no less Grand.

My 2c worth - paint the hubcaps. If for no other reason than to stop everyone asking you about it (or pointing it out as a short-coming) :)

I also think you should paint the hubcaps. White hubcaps will standout at least as much as the chrome.

I think MB would have painted the hubcaps body color in this case.  They tended to match the top with darker colors on lighter cars but not with lighter color tops on darker cars.  It would also look out of place with the convertible top.
