My '71 280SL is a very good driver car. Other than a high-quality repaint in 1994, and replacing degraded parts, the car is all original. Even the carpet is still in very good shape (with the integrated rubber around the shift console), although faded.
A previous owner committed the mortal sin of cutting speaker holes in the parcel shelf (oh, the humanity!)
I'd like to either plug the holes or replace the shelf pieces and recover them with original closed loop carpet, if that is possible. The color is charcoal gray.
So if you're in the middle of, or planning to, re-carpet and you have this type of carpet that you were going to toss anyway, keep me in mind, please.
