Got my dash, door panels, kick plates, front pillar post covers, and stiffener plates in back with new vinyl from the body & paint shop with a piece of vinyl I do not recognize. Please see attached photos to see if anyone knows where it gets installed or not part of car. Piece is 1-3/8" W x 45-1/2" lg and has 9 studs with washers and castle nuts. Any suggests will be acknowledged. Thanks

That looks like the wind lace for both doors. They are attached to the forward door jams and held in with the chrome strips.

At nearly 4 feet long, this is not from the SL series.
Possibly for the rear window of the W108, 109 or 114 sedans on the rear parcel shelf, but even that is doubtful.
But this is not from the W113 SL sereis.

Go back to the body shop and see if someone is missing those parts. Odds are the guy is pulling his hair out wondering where to get replacements.

Yes. It is definitely not the wind lace. I think it belongs to some other vehicle at his shop. He works on 4 to 6 american cars all the time and mostly Mustangs. Thanks
