your right about BMW, especially on the panels front [

Though having dug deep as it were many, many modern BMW mechanical/electrical/suspension parts will swap right on to older models Hence my 1974 Csi will end up with bits from 1980 - 1990 cars! and basically you will not be able to tell the difference!
I want a nice looking car that is a daily driver, carefully upgraded, such as fitting ABS, and reliability.
MB is
currently much better than BMW in supporting older models, but recently I have noticed that BMW has recognised, like MB, it's a huge market that makes lots of money (scary MB prices) hence some BMW stuff is making a comeback
Companies such as Morgan, and RollsRoyce recognised this years ago and have built up a dedicated following because you can get a left handed what not for a 1954 Morgan or roller!
