Nice Addition to the Collection
« on: September 18, 2020, 19:47:05 »
The dealer called me this morning telling me that my new C8 was being delivered today from the factory. I went there and watched them unloading it from the truck and take it to the prep area.
Have to wait until Tuesday to pick her up. Hope it does not rain.

I hear that they are a real torque monster.     Sounds like lots of fun.  I saw an old guy (probably like 60) with one at the local cars and coffee last week.  He told me it was definitely the most fun he has ever had with his clothes on. Mind you his wife was right there so he could have been lying a bit.

Congrats.

Good on you Mike  fabulous,
Mike hope you dont mind  me mention a few facts members may like.
Look down at your watch, start from any number, and go to---3--- seconds,  60 mph, thats how
fast the Mikes new C8 is.
Also it has a few cool hidden features that are not well known, one is,
a hidden button to open the C8 trunk lid  without the key fob or getting into
the car, provided its unlocked,---and mike i wont say where it is--here.
Probably the best buy super car  on the market any where  today .

That one is getting into the range of supercar. A lot of car for the money. And, you can take it to your local dealer for service. I wouldn't buy one - just saying......

It all depends on how you define "Supercar". If you look at Aston Martin Vulcans, McLaren 620Rs Bugatti Veyrons or Ferrari 812s, Corvettes are probably not "Supercars" in your book.
And then, when I bought my 1990 ZR1, contemporary tests had it outperform the Ferarri Testarossa on the skid pad.
Considering what you get for the money, it is a pretty good deal, even compared with a Porsche 911.
The downside on Corvettes is, and always has been, the use of cheap materials in the interior and the antiquated push-rod V8. One thing I do not like even in this car. When they first talked about the mid-engine C8 a few years ago, some theories had it come with a twin-cam Turbo V6. I would have gladly taken that over the Chevy small block.
